‘Save Echo Farms’ apologizes for previous conduct at City Council
WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — For the past two months, members of the ‘Save Echo Farms’ movement have been showing up to Wilmington City Council meetings to voice their concerns about development in the golf course community.
During the Wilmington City Council meeting on Tuesday, ‘Save Echo Farms’ Chairman of the Board John P. Kay apologized to City Council for inappropriate conduct by some supporters who attended recent meetings.
Kay said ‘Save Echo Farms’ had gotten feedback about some people in the group being disruptive and that the group has taken action to correct those issues moving forward.
“We’re very hopeful that you won’t see any more signs,” Kay said. “There won’t be any more disruptive action, and there won’t be any more offensive comments made.”
Kay said ‘Save Echo Farms’ supports the following:
- Wilmington City Council and its members
- Development in general, provided it meets with Wilmington’s Comprehensive Plan
- General development of housing needed for the growth of Wilmington
- Land owner’s rights to sell and/or develop land they own
- 2016 Wilmington Parks Bond
