Scammers using creative techniques to get your information

Scammers continue to get more creative when it comes to trying to steal your identity.

A popular way to try and steal personal information is through e-mail phishing, when someone sends you an e-mail from what appears to be a legitimate company, and asks for information like your social security number.

Scammers also make phone calls. A scammer may call and say your credit card has been flagged for unusual purchases, and then ask for your credit card number and security code.

Authorities say to never give any personal information to someone who contacts you.
