When will students have to makeup for the snow days?

NEW HANOVER COUNTY, NC (WWAY) — Along with snow days and school cancellations come makeup days, but when and how will schools decide on those make up days if necessary?

New Hanover County School’s PIO Valita Quattlebaum said in part, “The decision on whether we have to make up any of these days hasn’t been decided yet. The immediate focus will be on damage assessments from the storm and ensuring that we are ready to roll next week and all of our facilities are safe. The superintendent will consider make up days – if any are needed – along with other senior leaders and we will announce the decision once it is made.”

Quattlebaum said they do not have a specific date at this time but should be announced sometime next week.

We reached out to Pender, Columbus, Bladen and Brunswick counties schools and are waiting on their responses.
