Seahawk student-athletes achieve academic success in Fall 2025

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — UNCW athletes posted a department best 3.571 GPA for the 2025 Fall semester where 62 student-athletes earning a perfect 4.0 GPA.

“Our student-athletes are to be congratulated as they continue to shine and excel both in the classrooms and labs as well as on playing fields,” said UNCW Director of Athletics Michael Oblinger. “Our Student-Athlete Support Services staff has continued to work with our student-athletes to get the most they can from their time here, and the bar has been raised annually. Another great job by Dr. Shannon Pease and her staff.”

The Women’s Golf program led all 19 programs with a combined 3.814 GPA, followed by Beach Volleyball at 3.784. The following were Women’s soccer (3.706), Volleyball (3.698) and both Women’s Indoor and Outdoor Track programs (3.693).

All 19 programs achieved a semester GPA of 3.00.

Three hundred three student-athletes earned a GPA of at least 3.0, representing 89% of the department.
