WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY)  — Wilmington Police say a narcotics search warrant at a home in the 400 block of Wesley Avenue led to the discovery of possible fetal remains.

It happened on August 22.

A WPD spokesman said what is believed to be the remains were found inside a container in a shed behind the home. They were sent to the Greenville Medical Examiner’s office. No charges related to the remains have been filed at this time, and the investigation is ongoing.

Nicholas Baldwin, who police say lives at the residence, was arrested on drug charges, including possession with intent to sell and deliver cocaine and possession of marijuana. Officials say Baldwin was at the home during the search. He has since posted bond.
