Second half run leads Hofstra past UNCW men’s basketball

HEMPSTEAD, NY (WWAY)– UNCW men’s basketball held a one-point lead over Hofstra at halftime on Thursday night, but the Pride outscored the Seahawks 46-30 after the break for the 87-72 win.

It was a big night offensively for Eli Pemberton he finished with a game-high 24 points on 8-15 shooting from the field. It was another night another double-double for Devontae Cacok with 15 points and 10 rebounds. Jeantal Cylla led the Seahawks in scoring with 16 points.

The major discrepancy in the game came at the free-throw line. The Pride outscored UNCW 23-7 at the line, and the Seahawks attempted 17 fewer free throws.

The loss drops UNCW to now 7-12 on the season. The Seahawks will wrap up their two-game road trip on Saturday night taking on Northeastern.
