CASTLE HAYNE, NC (WWAY) — Drivers in northern New Hanover County should prepare for a temporary road closure beginning next week.

A contractor for the N.C. Department of Transportation will close both directions of Blue Clay Road at its intersection with Sidbury Road to allow for utility installation. The closure is expected to last about three months.

During the closure, local traffic will be detoured using North College Road and Parmele Road.

Transportation officials urge drivers to use caution when traveling near the work zone and to plan alternate routes to avoid delays.
