Senior Resource Center to hold health fair, listening session and more
NEW HANOVER COUNTY, NC (WWAY) — Next week, the New Hanover County Senior Resource Center will hold a day filled with free activities and beneficial information for local seniors.
Starting at 9:30 a.m. on Wednesday, May 30, there will be a tree planting ceremony in support of elder abuse prevention and awareness.
From 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., the center will hold the annual Senior Health & Resource Fair. Seniors can take part in the health screenings, fitness demonstrations, meet various professionals and vendors and learn more about services available.
Also on Wednesday, citizens from New Hanover County and beyond are able to provide input on North Carolina’s 2019-2023 Aging Services Plan. This is only one of a few meetings planned across the state. From 10 a.m. to Noon, the session will help identify the needs of North Carolina’s older citizens, disabled adults and their caregivers.
