Several hurt in massive fire at Carolina Forest condo

Sunlight reveals the destruction left behind at a Windsor Green condo building after a fire broke out Thursday night.

Seven people were hurt after the fire broke out at around 9 p.m.

None of those hurt were burned, according to Horry County Fire Rescue Capt. Mark Nugent. Some of the injuries were sustained when people jumped from balconies to escape the fire.

Crews at the scene Thursday night said three buildings were involved in the fire on all three floors when they got to the scene.

Firefighters are still at the scene Friday morning, searching for hot spots and checking for information that could help determine a cause for the fire.

The heat from the building appears to have even damaged a Horry County Fire Rescue truck.

Nugent said the building that caught fire did not have a sprinkler system.

The American Red Cross is providing assistance to the residents impacted by the massive fire.
