Several roads flooded, some impassable


WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — As storms roll through the Cape Fear, officials in several area counties say some roads are already flooded.

The NCDOT said just before noon that NC 210 (Island Drive) in North Topsail Beach is flooded and impassible.

New Hanover County Dispatch said this morning the 6200 block of Murrayville Road is impassible because of water on the road. The 6700 block of Amsterdam Way and the 500 block of Old Mill Road were also flooded, but remain open.

In Brunswick County, dispatchers said Dorsey Lane, Jamestown Road and Ash Little River Road were all flooded Friday morning. The Sheriff’s Office also reported NC 133 (River Road) near Olde Fort Golf Course was flooded.

Dispatchers in Pender County said flooding was reported early Friday in the Stag Park area, on NC 50 near the Pender-Duplin county line, in the 1500 block of NC 210, on Shaw Highway near NC 210 in Rocky Point and parts of Herrings Chapel Road.

Both Bladen and Columbus County Dispatch said there are no reports yet of flooding on roads there.
