Sex offender arrested while lurking in kids section of library


KINSTON, NC (WCTI) — A sex offender was arrested for being in the children’s section of the Kinston/Lenoir County Library, according to the Kinston Department of Public Safety.

Anthony Briggs, 29, a registered sec offender, was arrested Tuesday and charged with felony sex offender on a child premises.

Kinston police said the incident happened on Saturday, May 16, 2015 and Sunday, May 17, 2015, at the library located at 510 North Queen Street in Kinston. The staff of the library told police there was a suspicious man at the library.

His bond for the charge was $30,000 secured.
