Shallotte drivers face weeks-long closure on Holden Beach Road
SHALLOTTE, NC (WWAY) — The North Carolina Department of Transportation has announced a temporary road closure on NC-130, also known as Holden Beach Road, in Shallotte for a pipe replacement project.
The closure began Monday and is expected to continue through April 24.
The affected area is near Civietown Road, where crews are working on a bridge department pipe replacement. Officials say the road will be closed both day and night during construction.
Drivers will be detoured using NC-130 East to Civietown Road Southwest, then to Mt. Pisgah Road Southwest before reconnecting with NC-130 West. The full detour is approximately 6.5 miles.
