Shallotte veteran bringing recognition to vets of all forces with flags

SHALLOTTE, NC (WWAY)– Veterans Day is this weekend, and if you served in the armed forces, one Brunswick County man has a “flag-for-you”.

Frank Berenyi is a Shallotte resident and Special Forces Veteran.

Three years ago, he created a program called “Flag for Me” in an effort to recognize all who fought, but often go unrecognized.

Berenyi hopes that when the flag is seen flying, people will pause to honor those that served.

“I wanted to give credit to all the services. Whether it was Air Force, whether it was Navy, whether it was Army, or Marines. They all served, they all deserve recognition,” said Berenyi.

The flags are made locally in Wilmington and shipped from Shallotte by Berenyi himself.

If you would like to purchase a flag to show your neighbors that you served America in times of peace or war to defend our country, while also supporting a local veteran, you can do so by visiting flagforme.com.
