Sharks aren’t talking smack; they’re just talking about winning in the playoffs

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — The Wilmington Sharks open the playoffs on Wednesday. Head coach Parker Bangs is pumped up and ready. “We’re very prepared,” Bangs told WWAY on Monday. “That is why we can have nice easy practices like we did today because we got all of our work in during the regular season. I don’t know what the other teams are doing, but if there is a team that worked harder than we did during the season then I would love to see it.  “We have a great group of guys and we’ve had guys with injuries, but the guys that we have left really, really want to win. Hopefully the ball bounces our way on Wednesday night and we can get out to a 1-0 lead and then finish on Thirsty Thursday at the Shark Tank, that’s always fun.”

WILMINGTON, NC (SHARKS RELEASE) —  ​ The scene is set for Round 1 of the 2015 Coastal Plain League Petitt Cup Playoffs. The Wilmington Sharks (29-24, 15-12) have drawn the 2 seed in the CPL East, and are set to face off with the 3 seed, the Peninsula Pilots (28-24, 13-14).

​Wilmington and Peninsula split their regular season series 1-1, while the Sharks outscored the Pilots 16-12. Each of the meetings was in late July, with the most recent game being a 13-7 Sharks victory in Hampton.
​Game 1 will be on Wednesday, August 5th at War Memorial Stadium in Hampton, VA in a best of three series. Game 2 will be at the Shark Tank on Thursday, August 6th. Wilmington will host Game 3 if a rubber match is necessary.
​Please note – unused general admission tickets from the regular season can be used for admission to a playoff game. Reserved tickets from games cancelled due to weather can be exchanged for the best available ticket.
