Update: Potato gun, not explosive, found at landfill

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — The New Hanover County Sheriff’s Office now says the report of a possible explosive device at the New Hanover County Landfill was in fact a potato gun.

NHSO spokesman Lt. Jerry Brewer says the report came from a landfill employee around 10 a.m. Brewer says a member of the sheriff’s bomb unit investigated.
