Shopping center reopens after gas leak in Wilmington

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — A gas leak briefly closed multiple businesses in Wilmington Friday afternoon. Those businesses have now reopened.

A Wilmington Fire Department spokeswoman said the call of a gas leak came in around 3:30 p.m. causing half of Hanover Center to be evacuated.

This has been the 3rd gas leak in Wilmington in the past month.
