Shots fired at mom dropping off child at elementary school
CHARLOTTE, NC (WSOC) — Police responded to a shots fired call at Villa Heights Elementary School near North Davidson Street Thursday morning.
Charlotte-Mecklenburg police said a mother pulled into the school’s parking lot around 7:20 a.m. to drop off her child.
They said she was about to take the child inside when a man she knew walked up to her car and fired a gun.
No one was hit by the gunfire. Police said the shooter drove away and is still on the loose.
