Shots fired into a Columbus County home
WHITEVILLE, NC (WWAY) — Columbus County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a report of shots fired into a home.
According to the sheriff’s office, it happened around 1:00 am Saturday in the 100 block of church lane in Whiteville.
The homeowner told the sheriff’s office he heard a single popping sound during the night, but dismissed it and went to bed. The following morning, he discovered a bullet hole in the hallway that had traveled through a secondary wall and into a bedroom.
This case remains under active investigation.
