SkyWatch Bird Rescue seeking help from public

CASTLE HAYNE, NC (WWAY) — SkyWatch Bird Rescue is asking the community for donations as temperatures continue to drop below freezing for multiple days.

SkyWatch Bird Rescue houses a wide range of exotic, domestic, and migratory birds who are not equipped for winter weather.

The upcoming cold shot will take a toll on wild birds, and the rescue says they expect to take in even more birds.

The rescue says they need help from the public to raise $3,900 to purchase new generators and other winter supplies to ensure the birds are safe and warm.
