Snoop Dogg is coming to the Azalea Festival

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Snoop Dogg will take to the Belk Main Stage Friday, April 8, during the Azalea Festival this year. His opening act will be Doug E. Fresh.

Tickets are $46.50 with doors opening at 5 p.m. and the concert starting at 7 p.m.

“The Azalea Festival is so excited to have Snoop Dogg join our lineup on the 2016 Belk Main Stage. Snoop Dogg is an icon in the evolution of Hip Hop and of our generation. His fame extends out of the music business; as an actor his laid back personality has endeared him to many outside of the hip hop industry. He is a true entrepreneur, starting many ventures including a YouTube original series, lifestyle products, and a non-profit philanthropy teaching positive values to youth.,” Azalea Festival President Robby Collins said in a news release. “This is going to be an awesome show unlike any other the Azalea Festival has promoted.”

Tickets for Snoop Dogg go on sale tomorrow at 9 a.m. at NCAzaleaFestival.org and at the Azalea Festival office starting Monday.

Last year Nelly became the first hip-hop artist to play the festival’s main stage.

This year’s other main stage acts include the Avett Brothers and country singer Chase Rice.
