Snow Sights: Surf, sand, snow at Wrightsville Beach

Proof that the Valentine’s weekend storm was a coastal storm: the four inches of snow we measured on Johnnie Mercer’s Pier at Wrightsville Beach.

The uncommon mixing of snow and sand provided some priceless photo opportunities for many families. A lot of folks also used the slope down the beach to the Atlantic Ocean as a place to do some sledding. A few hearty souls, equipped with dry suits, we hope, even braved the cold to catch a few waves.
