Soil testing scheduled for North College Road

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — The N.C. Department of Transportation scheduled soil testing in New Hanover County which may result in temporary overnight road closures.

Contractors will perform drilling operations on the shoulder of North College Road (U.S. 117 / N.C. 132) between Market Street and Gordon Road to test the soil.

Work will take place Monday through Friday, 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. between January 18 and March 26.

Drivers are asked to be alert to crews working. They’re encouraged to slow down and seek alternate routes when available.

The soil testing is part of the North College Road and Martin Luther King Jr. Parkway interchange project
