Soon to be graduate of Laney high has perfect attendance for the past 13 years

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — We all have taken a sick day here or there right? Not this soon to be graduate of Laney high.

Senior Dallas Thompson has not missed a day of school for the past thirteen years. From kindergarten all the way to his senior year of high school.

Thompson is proud of his achievement and will be recognized at his graduation for the rare accomplishment.

“I would definitely say that attending school everyday definitely helped me because I’m not the quickest learner so, I did really need to go to school everyday to get the education I wanted,” Thompson said.

Thompson is heading to UNC Chapel Hill for college.

Laney high school’s graduation is tomorrow night at UNCW’s Trask Coliseum.
