South Brunswick girls take down West Brunswick 42-30

BOILING SPRING LAKES, N.C. (WWAY) — Despite no longer being conference rivals, South Brunswick girls basketball knocked off county rival West Brunswick 42-30 on Wednesday.

Meryn Deutsch led the Cougars with 16 points. Right behind her was 14 points from Adyson Bell.

This victory gives South the season sweep over the Trojans.

“Honestly, getting the home win was a really important win for us,” Deutsch said. “We beat them at their place, but something about beating West on our court is just different. We did it last year and we did it the year before. Getting the win tonight against our rival is really big. We came together at halftime and we were able to pull it together. Everyone is picking each other up all the time. I think that’s really important in the team, is how well we work together.”
