Southern Farm Days wraps up three-day festival

LAKE WACCAMAW, NC (WWAY) — The 14th annual Southern Farm Days celebration wrapped up on Sunday.

The three-day event is held every March in Lake Waccamaw and celebrates the history of American agriculture.

The event hosted hundreds of antique tractors with dozens of vendors selling handmade goods, antiques, food, drinks, and more.

Proceeds from the event go to benefit the Boys & Girls Homes of North Carolina.

President of the Lake Waccamaw Lion’s Club Bill Thompson said the event is meant to remind people who live in the region of their agricultural heritage, while raising money for a good cause.

“And the idea is to let folks know what we did that made us who we are, and what we are today,” Thompson said.

Thompson added that the turnout for this year’s event was the largest ever with more than 5000 people attending.
