Southport man charged with child sex crimes

BRUNSWICK COUNTY, NC (WWAY) — A 79-year-old Southport man is out of jail on a $50,000 bond, after being arrested for child sex crimes.

Rubin Smith Curtis was arrested Wednesday and charged with two counts of indecent liberties with a child.

According to arrest warrants, the offenses took place in October of 2013 and from February 1 to May 1 of 2014.

He has a court appearance tomorrow.
