Southport Police say boy found after being missing for 10 years is missing again

SOUTHPORT, NC (WWAY) — A boy found by the Southport Police Department in August of 2023 after being missing for 10 years is reportedly missing again.

On August 10, 2023, 11-year-old Andre “AJ” Amon Thompson Jr. was located by the Southport Police Department after reported missing from Durham County for around a decade.

Andre was found in the company of Dreama Ferguson. Thompson was placed in the legal custody of the Durham County Department of Social Services under the temporary supervision of a family member residing in Southport.

Since that date, a multitude of attempts to contact the minor child were made by the Department of Social Services to ensure the child’s care and wellbeing. The family member declined to provide the child, his whereabouts, or any information during the contact.

Durham County DSS contacted the Southport Police Department to file a missing person report.

Andre Thompson Jr is reported missing and believed to be in the company of Dreama Ferguson also known, via social media, as Alexandria Bey. Dreama is known to frequent both Durham and Southport areas.
