Southport Police: Woman found dead in pond

SOUTHPORT, NC (WWAY) — A woman has been found dead in a pond, according to officials at the Southport Police Department.

Chief Smith confirmed that the body was discovered around 10:00 a.m. this morning off Robert Ruark Drive, near the GoGas in Southport. He says it is currently being investigated.
