Southport store sells Cash 5 jackpot ticket worth $535,318

RALEIGH, NC (WWAY) – Someone who played a set of lottery numbers for $1 in Brunswick County won more than half a million dollars Friday night.

One lucky ticket, sold at Kopps Quick Stop 2 on George II Highway in Southport, matched all five numbers in the nightly Carolina Cash 5 drawing to win the $535,318 jackpot.

The winning numbers were: 9-14-19-24-35

The Cash 5 jackpot starts at $50,000 and grows until one or more tickets beat the odds of 1 in 749,398 to win it.

Ticket sales make it possible for the lottery to raise more than half a billion dollars a year for education in North Carolina.
