First round results from Time Warner Cable Holiday Classic at Brogden Hall

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — The first round of the girls holiday tournament at Brogden Hall is complete.

note: Courtney Melvin led East Bladen with 36 points Monday night. She now has 2,014 points during her tenure at East Bladen.

Consolation matchups on Tuesday will be Pender vs. Ashley followed by New Hanover vs. Laney. Semi-final action starts at 6pm with Hoggard vs. South View followed by East Bladen vs. Havelock.

The tourney will conclude on Wednesday at Brogden Hall. The title game is slated to begin at 6:30pm on Wednesday.

In boys action on Monday Hoggard beat Greensboro Ragsdale 67-65 in overtime. Drew Combs sent the game into overtime with a 3 pointer. Stilman White hit the winning shot at the buzzer in ot. White scored 28 points. Hoggard will play Greensboro Day School on Tuesday in Greensboro.
