SHALLOTTE, NC (WWAY) — The Town of Shallotte is looking for a new police chief.

Chief Adam Stanley will be retiring from law enforcement effective February 2026, to pursue other opportunities within Brunswick County.

Stanley engaged in more than 30 years of service in law enforcement to the citizens of Brunswick County.

He has served the Shallotte Police Department since 2022. A town statement notes that he served “with dedication and professionalism, helping to strengthen community relationships and lead the department through continued growth and success. His commitment to public safety and to the citizens of Shallotte has been deeply valued and will have a lasting impact on our community.”

As part of the transition, Chief Stanley will assist the Town of Shallotte in selecting the most qualified candidate to serve as the next Chief.

Starting pay is more than $98k.
