Steady foot traffic in Downtown Wilmington despite snow

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Since Wednesday night, aside from people playing in the snow, Downtown Wilmington has been looking like a wintery ghost town.

But as bars and restaurants started opening up some people were out and about having some fun.

However, it was not as busy as you might think. Many people attribute that to the cold temperatures and the icy road conditions.

All in all, the brave souls who have ventured downtown are excited to just be out of the house and enjoying other people’s company.

“Work’s closed, the city closed down, nobody’s on the streets. Growing up in Pittsburgh this is just a normal day I guess,” resident, Anthony Lucchino said.

“Most people have been stir crazy so I already have planned this outing with some coworkers so,” resident, Tony Cajigas said.

Many people said they think Friday night will continue to be slow but steady due to the road conditions.
