Stilman White says viral Mormon missionary hoops vid not him

CHAPEL HILL, NC (WWAY) — Earlier this week we caught up with Wilmington native and Hoggard alum Stilman White, as he returned to the UNC Tar Heels basketball team after a two-year Mormon mission.

While serving his mission out west, a YouTube basketball video went viral. The video included two Mormon missionaries playing basketball on a playground, with one of the young men clearly impressing his opponents with his hoop skills. It led a lot of people to wonder if that player was White, so we asked him.

“To dispell the rumors, it was not me,” White said. “I was not the person doing that. I have no clue who it was. The only reason I know about it is when the video uploaded on YouTube or whatever, I got about 50 e-mails asking if that was me. I didn’t play basketball on my mission.”
