STORMTRACK3: Tornado reported in eastern NC

 

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — An approaching storm system tapped into a warm, moist atmosphere to produce gusty thunderstorms on Monday (April 7).  A confirmed tornado developed near Belhaven (Beaufort County). Some structural damage occurred with this storm, including damage to a truck and home, but no fatalities were reported. The storm rated EF2 (111-135 mph winds) on the Enhanced Fujita Scale.
