Students tumble into a reward after good behavior and grades

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — One school kicked off things today with the rewards for hard work. Some students here in the Cape Fear put in the effort and tumbled into a very cool reward.

The students are from Rachel Freeman School of Engineering. They all either made the honor roll, had great behavior or both.  As a reward they got a surprise.

Every nine weeks the students participate in a behavior celebration. The reward this time was a performance from the Kenya Safari Acrobats from Greensboro.

“We get a paycheck when we do our job, so we don’t consider it like bribing. We just, if they work hard then they see the fruits of their labor,” Behavioral Counselor Laurie Wierse said.

Wierse said students who didn’t get the chance this time can still improve and enjoy the next celebration.
