Summit in Wilmington highlights entrepreneurship and socioeconomic development

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Entrepreneurship and community socioeconomic development was the focus of a summit in downtown Wilmington Friday

NC Project Lead, a group that focuses on economic development and entrepreneurship in Southeastern North Carolina, hosted the 2025 Community Socioeconomic Development Summit at Hotel Ballast.

There were roundtable discussions and opportunities for the community to ask the panelists questions and connect with them.

Roberta McCullough was on the panel to build the ecosystem for small undersized businesses.
She says those in attendance should use what they learned.

Utilize the resources that have been put before you. NC Project Lead has brought a plethora of resources to the table. So, those that are here are very fortunate. So hopefully those who were here will spread it to those who were not and maybe they’ll come next year. But I would say, use the resources because it’s a gift,” McCullough said.

Saturday night will be the gala at the Wilmington Convention Center.
The keynote speaker will be Maurice “Mo” Green, North Carolina Superintendent of public instruction.
