Swifties ‘Shake It Off’ at Taylor Swift silent disco in Wilmington
WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — A Taylor Swift silent disco was held in Wilmington on Sunday.
The event was held at Bull City Ciderworks, With Swifties shaking it off in silence to celebrate swift’s most recent release of “Tortured Poets Department.” Three DJs played three separate channels, allowing attendees to choose the music they most enjoy.
Lead Organizer Victoria Pelonero said the silent disco is an unconventional way to get down on the dance floor.
“So it sounds really silly at first, but if you actually come to one, it’s super fun cause you put the headphones in and it’s like you’re in your own little world just listening to music and you can take your headphones off and you hear everybody singing off key and the squeaks of their shoes dancing, so it’s really fun,” she said.
Although attendees can choose music other than Taylor Swift, it’s clear that most came for their favorite artist.
