Swing for a change at the Wilmington Municipal Golf Course
NEW HANOVER COUNTY, NC (WWAY)– Swing for a Change was held at the Wilmington Municipal Golf Course, aiming to raise money for domestic violence survivors in New Hanover County.
Registered teams had the chance to support survivors while enjoying a round of golf.
The Domestic Violence Shelter and Services hosted the event, setting up tables with prizes for the highest scores and raffles for the highest bidders.
Lauren Daley Bryant, Executive Director of Domestic Violence Shelter and Services, highlighted the importance of such fundraising efforts:
“Fundraising events are a major way for us to generate revenue for crucial services. They also help raise awareness, particularly when we have mostly men participating. This isn’t typical for domestic violence events, so it’s been a great community event,” said Bryant.
Proceeds from the event will directly fund essential services provided by Domestic Violence Shelter and Services in New Hanover County.
