Table 22 is reserved: 92-year-old Conway man eats at Eggs Up Grill every day

For one Conway man, not a day goes by without a visit to his favorite local restaurant.

That is, unless he has a doctor’s appointment or there is a Steelers game on.

For seven years, seven days a week, 92-year-old George Bost has entered the ‘Eggs Up Grill’ in Conway like a celebrity.

“He likes his one table, number 22,” said server, Stephanie Fisher.

“I can see who’s working in the kitchen,” said Mr. Bost.

“Get him his coffee, get him his little box, give him his two napkins, and he’s ready to go,” said Fisher.

“I only eat half a sandwich, and I take the other half home,” explained Bost.

He is particular to say the least.

“White toast, lightly toasted. Two cold butters on the side,” said Fisher.

He is also die-hard fan when it comes to his favorite football team.

“Love those Steelers!” he exclaimed.

“Don’t talk to him if they didn’t win, for sure,” said Fisher. “He’s charming in his own little way.”

While he enjoys the food, it is more about the company.

“Everbody knows me,” said Bost. “All the girls know me. They treat me fine.”

“We have his phone number because, if he doesn’t show up, we call,” said Fisher.

For Christmas, he was given a framed photo of all his ‘girls.’

Sometimes, though, you catch George looking at a booth across the restaurant.

“When she died, I claimed this as my table,” he said.

His wife, Jean, died the day after New Year’s in 2010.

“She loved her pancakes. My God, their pancakes are about that big around!”

He started coming to the restaurant with her.

“I thank God every morning for this new day,” said Bost.

For him, it comes down to feeling loved.

“He’s definitely a part of the Eggs Up family,” said Fisher.

“How I’m treated–I’m treated with loyalty,” said Bost.

George is also a World War II veteran. He served in the Navy.

Besides all that love he gets from the ‘Eggs Up’ staff, it is not uncommon for customers to pay for his meal, too!
