#TBT: Spectral spectators at Thalian Hall
WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — This month for Throwback Thursday we’re doing something a little different. During the month of October we’ll be sharing ghost stories of the Cape Fear.
Thalian Hall is one of the country’s oldest and most revered theaters. And what’s a historic building without a few friendly spooky legends?
Actors at Thalian have reported seeing 3 specters in Edwardian style clothing watching their rehearsals from the center balcony. Legend has it there are 2 men and 1 woman who like to enjoy a performance from time to time. There have been instances of actors and actresses feeling bursts of cold air when they are performing or hearing voices when no one is there. The spirits also seem to be interested in how a modern production is done. Actors have reporter scripts, tools, and make-up mysteriously moving around the theater.
But have no fear, it seems these ghosts are fans of the arts. Maybe the stylish spirits just want one more chance to stand in the spotlight?
