Teacher of the Week: Carla Simon

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Carla Simon has only lived in the Cape Fear area for nine months, but she has already discovered a classroom of students that inspire her.

Our Teacher of the Week works with students that fall somewhere on the Autism spectrum and are all succeeding as they prepare for the real world after graduation from Ashley High School.

Her nomination says she not only teaches and supports her students, but is also in constant contact with parents to evaluate progress and help with any issues they may have.

In the end, she wants all of her students to just have a great life and to be happy.
