Teacher of the Week: Molly Davis

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — For Molly Davis, becoming a science teacher was a no-brainer.

“I love science and I like playing,” she said. “It’s a place where you can play and do science at the same time.”

For Noble Middle School’s 7th grade science teacher, her passion shows. Students describe Mrs. Davis as an “impeccable teacher” who is always “full of life.”

However, Mrs. Davis’ most important lesson can’t be taught out of a text book.

“I hope they take away the ability to ask questions. I hope they take away confidence in themselves, to rely on each other and other people to find those answers, to go out in the world and do the right thing,” she said.

Mrs. Davis was nominated by a past student who says the science teacher not only changed her life, but saved it.

For Mrs. Davis, that’s what it’s all about.

”It’s hard to express the difference that kids make. And to think that things that you do can change people’s lives is kind of amazing.”
