Teacher stabbed at school in Paris suburb, terror police investigating
A teacher was stabbed early this morning at a public elementary school in a suburb of Paris, and French antiterrorism police are now investigating the incident after the assailant reportedly cited the Islamic State group.
Antiterrorism authorities are looking into the incident and the assailant is at large, Paris prosecutor’s office spokeswoman Agnes Thibault-Lecivre said.
Police have confirmed to ABC News that the teacher was attacked with a sharp object such as a box-cutter or scissors, resulting in non-life-threatening injuries.
No children were in the school at the time.
The incident comes as France remains under a state of emergency after Nov. 13 attacks by extremists linked to the Islamic State group that killed 130 people.
