Team of the Week – North Brunswick Scorpions
LELAND, NC (WWAY) — Three in a row. That’s the current winning streak for the North Brunswick Scorpions. They are now 5-2 overall after beating Croatan last Thursday 23-12 in their East Central Conference opener. Jamal Andrews had 17 tackles for North Brunswick. “I was just getting to the ball,” Andrews said. “It felt good.”
JC Smith also had a big game. Smith rushed for 156 yards. North Brunswick will travel to SW Onslow this Friday. Scorpions head coach Larry Brock feels fortunate his team can play and practice this week. “We feel bad for all of the people in Columbus, Duplin and Pender, Robeson, Cumberland and Wayne counties,” Brock told WWAY on Wednesday. “It’s tough and our hearts go out to them because we’re lucky we’re out here practicing and some people ain’t got homes.”
Hats off to coach Brock. Well said and with that’s let’s give it up for this week’s WWAY Farm Bureau Insurance Team of the Week: The North Brunswick Scorpions.
