Tech company to bring 44 new jobs, $6 million investment to Bladen County

ELIZABETHTOWN, NC (WWAY) — A global technology and product development company is bringing new jobs and major investment to Bladen County.
Governor Josh Stein announced Thursday that VectorTex USA, LLC will create 44 jobs and invest more than $6 million to open its first North American manufacturing facility in Elizabethtown.
VectorTex USA is the U.S. subsidiary of Vector Technologies, an Australian contract manufacturer serving the life sciences, aquaculture, automotive, and food and beverage industries. The company develops medical device components and technology used in oyster farming. According to a news release, its Elizabethtown location will operate in a 25,000-square-foot production and innovation facility designed to bring operations closer to key U.S. customers.
State leaders say the company’s investment is a major win for rural North Carolina. The new jobs will come with an average salary of $48,136, closely aligned with Bladen County’s average wage of $46,867. The project could generate an annual payroll impact of more than $2 million for the region.
To support the expansion, the state is providing a performance-based $120,000 grant through the One North Carolina Fund. The program helps local governments attract economic development and requires companies to meet job creation and investment goals before receiving any payment. Local matching funds are also required.
VectorTex leaders say the move will strengthen their supply chain and expand their engineering and manufacturing capabilities across the United States. State and local officials also praised the project, calling it an important boost for the county’s workforce and economy.
“This is the kind of investment rural North Carolina needs. VectorTex’s decision to bring jobs to Elizabethtown will strengthen our local economy and provide meaningful opportunities for hardworking folks in Bladen County,” said Senator Brent Jackson. “I’m proud to support efforts that bring good jobs to our region.”
