Technology conference brings students and professionals together
WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — The Wilmington Information Technology eXchange Conference gave folks a chance to connect with the minds behind some of the technology they use everyday.
Students and professionals were able to network through learning exchanges and presentations, sharing ideas and accomplishments in the fields of technology. For some events like this are a great way to explain to people what goes into their work.
Take Eli Wilson for example, he is a UNCW students who builds his own 3-D printers.
“It takes anyone who would be a consumer and turns them into a producer, essentially allowing them to create just about anything,” Wilson said.
There were even booths explaining cyber security and how to protect yourself and your personal information online.
Many of the technologies that were on display today are ways to improve our quality of life or help keep us safe.
