Police: Teen shot over dispute

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Wilmington police are investigating another shooting.

A Wilmington Police spokeswoman says an 18-year-old was  shot in the chest. It happened around 5:00 pm in the area of the Greentree Apartments off Greentree Rd. off Kerr Avenue.

Police do not know how many times the victim was shot. Investigators say he was taken to New Hanover Regional Medical Center via EMS. He was conscious at the scene, but the extent of his injuries is unknown.

Police say the shooting happened over a dispute. A spokeswoman said the person of interest in custody being questioned about the incident was later released.
