Teens arrested after being spotted carrying suspicious items

NEW HANOVER COUNTY, NC (WWAY) – Two teens face larceny charges after they were seen walking down the road carrying, what deputies say turned out to be, stolen items.

The New Hanover County Sheriff’s Office says a resident leaving the Northchase neighborhood spotted the teens just before 8:00 a.m.  The resident called the Sheriff’s Office.

When deputies arrived, the teens ran off.

Deputies caught and arrested Jimmy Calvin Creech III and Timothy Joel Hewett.

Deputies say during the investigation, they discovered several cars in the neighborhood had been broken into. Deputies say they are still taking reports.

Creech and Hewett may face more charges.
