Thalian Hall hosts New Year’s Eve Gala

Wilmington, NC (WWAY) — Thalian Hall will be hosting an 80’s-themed New Year’s Eve Gala on Wednesday, December 31st, at the Thalian Hall Center for the Performing Arts from 6:00 p.m. to 2 a.m.

Opera House Theatre Company will perform “Rock of Ages,” an award-winning musical featuring intricately arranged 80s classic rock hits from iconic artists: Bon Jovi, Def Leppard, Pat Benatar, Twisted Sister, and more. It’s a love story of a small-town girl and boy hitting the LA strip with big dreams to rock the club scene and battle threats to the fabled Bourbon Room with rock legend Stacee Jaxx that will take you on a powerful musical journey.

After the show ends, the bar opens. Tickets are all-inclusive of champagne and custom cocktails.

And each floor will have activities such as a pinball arcade in the lobby, a karaoke machine with the best of them in the Stein Theatre, jazz in the main lobby with Benny Hill, a silent disco, reliving 80s nostalgia with nonstop videos and commercials screening on the main stage, and dancing the night away in the ballroom with music provided by DJ BIGG B.

At midnight there will be a ball drop in the ballroom and a champagne toast.
