Thanksgiving meals given out at Saint Marks
Wilmington, NC (WWAY)– Thanksgiving is right around the corner, and some people were grateful to get a hot plate of food a few days before the holiday.
An event at Saint Mark’s community church in Wilmington gave some people a chance for some good grub. The ministry, located on Grace Street, gave traditional Thanksgiving food to the people who might be struggling during the holiday season. More than 50 people arrived, and either took a plate to go, or stayed inside to enjoy some company. Organizer, Marjorie Armstrong says they’re not just doing it around Thanksgiving.
“I just have the love for people, no matter where they come from, or where they are going. I just want to make sure they have a hot warm meal. Either one day out the month, or anytime that we can do this. We are always welcoming people inside the church, Saint Marks Episcopal Church”, said Armstrong.
Armstrong adds that she’s been a part of events like these for sixteen years. and wants the tradition to keep going all year round.
